Prof. Dr.-Ing Christoph Leyens
Plenary Abstract: Advanced materials and system technology developments for Additive Manufacturing
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Leyens studied and graduated in materials science and engineering, earned his Ph.D. in the field of coatings for and engineering of titanium alloys, and finally habilitated on materials for aerospace – RWTH Aachen being his alma mater. He has worked at DLR – German Aerospace Center as research scientist, group leader and finally acting director of the Institute of Materials Research before he accepted a full professorship in Metallurgy and Materials Technology at BTU Cottbus in 2004.

Prof. Stuart Bateman
Plenary Abstract: Polymer Composite Additive Manufacturing - A Marriage Of Materials Science & Process Engineering
Professor Stuart Bateman is the Boeing Professor of Aerospace and Head of Department for Mechanical, Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering at RMIT University. He was the Director of the Australian Research Council Training Centre in Lightweight Automotive Structures (ATLAS) from 2017 to 2023. Prior to joining RMIT in 2015, he spent 18 years at Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) which included roles of Senior Principal Research Scientist, Theme Leader for Sustainable Polymeric Materials, Theme Leader for Agile Manufacturing Technologies, and Deputy Director of CSIRO’s Future Manufacturing Flagship.
